At Holy Trinity CE (C) Primary School, we want every child to become a curious thinker, inspired learner and valued member of their community.

Our curriculum is ambitious, inclusive and designed around the children and diverse community we serve. We want every pupil to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and experiences they need to achieve well, flourish and be ready for their next stage of education.

An Ambitious Curriculum for Every Child

We believe every child is entitled to a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum.

From Early Years to Year 6, learning is carefully planned and sequenced so that pupils build their knowledge and understanding over time. Teachers connect new learning to what pupils already know, explicitly teach important vocabulary and provide opportunities for children to revisit, practise and apply their learning.

Strong foundations in reading, writing, communication and mathematics are central to our curriculum and enable children to access and enjoy learning across all subjects.

Our aim is not simply for children to complete a curriculum, but for them to know more, remember more, make connections and become increasingly confident and independent learners.

Inclusion and Belonging

Belonging is at the heart of Holy Trinity.

We recognise that children have different starting points, experiences, strengths and needs. Teachers identify barriers to learning and adapt teaching so that pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils, children learning English as an additional language and others who may need additional support can access an ambitious curriculum and achieve well.

As a diverse and multicultural school community, we want every child to see themselves reflected positively in our curriculum while also discovering people, places, cultures, faiths, families and experiences beyond their own.

Through this, children learn to value difference, challenge stereotypes, show respect and understand their place within modern Britain and the wider world.

Developing the Whole Child

Academic achievement is important, but our ambitions for our children extend much further.

Our curriculum develops character, confidence, creativity, resilience, independence and wellbeing. Through curriculum learning, PSHE, RE, collective worship, pupil leadership and wider school experiences, children learn how to build positive relationships, make responsible choices, care for their physical and emotional wellbeing and contribute positively to their community.

Our values are not simply words we learn; they are qualities we encourage our children to live every day.

Enrichment:  Be Inspired

We believe children should have opportunities to discover talents, interests and possibilities they may not otherwise encounter.

Visits, visitors, sport, music, performance, creative arts, STEM, outdoor learning, clubs, themed events and community experiences all enrich our curriculum and bring learning to life.

We carefully consider access to these opportunities because enrichment is an entitlement for every child, not an optional extra.

Our 11 by 11 Promise

Our 11 by 11 Promise is an important part of what makes the Holy Trinity curriculum special. Before leaving us at the age of eleven, every child will have experienced a carefully chosen range of memorable opportunities designed to broaden horizons, build confidence, create memories and inspire new interests. We want children's primary years to be filled not only with important knowledge and learning, but also with experiences and adventures they will remember.

Ready for the Future

By the time children leave Holy Trinity, we want them to be knowledgeable and well prepared for secondary school, but we also want them to be curious, confident, compassionate and resilient young people.

We want our pupils to respect others, celebrate diversity, recognise their own strengths, contribute to their communities and believe in the possibilities available to them.

Above all, we want every child to know that they are valued, that they belong and that their background should never place a limit on their future.
